Bob Vernier
Chief
Environmental Test and Integration Branch
Mr. Vernier started his federal career as an
Engineering Technician at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in
White Oak, MD in 1972. He participated in the government sponsored
undergraduate and graduate work-study programs and earned a BS degree
in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1976.
During his career at NSWC he participated in numerous weapon system
development programs and became the Project Manager for the Shipboard
Nuclear Weapons Security Program in 1987. In 1990 he joined the Goddard
Space Flight Center as the Vehicle Electrical Systems Test and
Integration Manager for the Hubble Space Telescope Program. Following
the First HST Servicing Mission in 1993, he joined the Orbital Launch
Services Project and served as the Mission Integration Manager for
numerous NASA missions including XTE, ACE, FUSE, and WIRE. In 1998 Mr.
Vernier took a position as the Environmental Project Engineering
Section Head for the Environmental Test Engineering and Integration
Branch. He currently serves as the Head of the Environmental Test and
Integration Branch.
