The second apogee burn, which occurred Saturday at 4:10 p.m, was 35 minutes in length and the third burn, which happened Monday at 2:30 p.m., was seven minutes long. GOES-J Deputy Project Manager Phil Sabelhaus said both burns went well. OBoth of our apogee motor firings went off without a hitch. There were no problems and thatOs the way we like them. WeOre now looking forward to the final firing of the motor tomorrow which will sort of dot the OiO and cross the OtO as far as a nominal orbit is concerned.O The final apogee motor firing is scheduled for about 9 a.m.tomorrow. After that, if all goes well, GOES-J will officially become GOES-9. Information will be updated on the Goddard Audio News Service, (301)286-NEWS, as it becomes available.
