Goddard in the News

Outreach: The Schenectady Gazette featured an article about Trans Iron Galactic Element Recorder, (TIGER) Co-Investigator Eric Christian. Christian is in Antarctica and is working with 10 earth science classes at Schenectady High School. He keeps a journal, answers questions from students, and does shadow measurements for them. All are on the web at http://tiger.gsfc.nasa.gov. He has also arranged several webcasts with the students.

EOS: The Weather Channel aired a segment on new research from NASA that used a computer climate model to reinforce the long-standing theory that low solar activity could have changed the atmospheric circulation in the Northern Hemisphere from the 1400s to the 1700s, and triggered a "Little Ice Age" in several regions including North America and Europe.
