Fair Judges Needed
Goddard Education
Programs has received a request for volunteers to serve as judges
at:
Technology
Challenge 2002 Career Camp, a Technology Challenge competition
for students ranging from Elementary to High school, which showcases
their themed technology projects. To highlight the academic and
career opportunities in technology, 150 middle school students are
invited to see the competition and participate in hands-on activities.
Local professionals are invited to provide a 45-minute hands-on
activity that relates to technology and offers an opportunity for
career exploration. Students will rotate through various stations
with materials provided. The Career Camp will be held on April
19, 2002, at Montgomery College - Germantown Campus from 3:00
p.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you are interested, please contact Jeannie

Anne Beers
Elementary School Science Fair, the annual Intermediate and
Primary Science/Technology Fairs, Wednesday, May 8, 2002,
at the school which is located at 3600 Alabama Avenue, SE, Washington,
DC. The Science Fair committee cordially extends an invitation to
you for participation in judging time and conversation with pre-kindergarten
through 6th grade students discussing their projects and experiences
investigating selected math, science and technology topics. Judges
can participate starting at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be
provided. As a judge you will review the exhibits and then spend
time interviewing students regarding their use of scientific thought,
methods, visual appearance and creativity. If you are interested,

Tulip Grove
Elementary School Career Day to serve as speakers for the Tulip
Grove Elementary School Career Day on Thursday, May 23, 2002
at the school, 2909 Trainor Lane, Bowie, MD. The Career Day committee
cordially extends an invitation for you to visit at least three
classrooms to share/discuss your career with students. The presentations
should take about 20 minutes and accomodate questions and comments.
You are invited to discuss career opportunities, responsibilities,
education and experiences required as well as share obstacles and
challenges you have overcome with lessons learned. If you are interested
