Council News
The Diversity
Council is pleased to announce the release of its 2001 Annual Report
as well as its 3-year Diversity Strategic Plan (http://diversity.gsfc.nasa.gov/div_council.html).
As the Center moves forward with the implementation of the 3-year
Plan, the Council announced several new projects for this year.
These include:
- Reinstating
of the popular Celebrate Goddard Day (scheduled for July 11, 2002)
- Work Team
Diversity Project designed to understand the level of diversity
on our Center work teams
- Formation
of a Center-wide Quality of Work Life (QWL) Working Group
- QWL Survey
to assess the needs of employees with respect to balancing work
and personal life (to be administered April 10 - 26, 2002, with
results reported in May 2002)
- Quarterly
directorate reporting on the strategies, goals and objectives
outlined in the 3-year Diversity Strategic Plan
- Diversity
Dialogue Project Phase B - January through June 2002
- Diversity
Dialogue Project Phase C - June through November 2002
The Diversity
Council serves as a change agent to promote an inclusive work environment.
It provides a forum for discussion of diversity related issues and
is the venue through which diversity issues are aired and diverse
interests are represented. The diversity Website provides a mechanism
for people to identify issues for the Diversity Council to discuss.
