New PD Tool
Will Save Supervisors' and Managers' Time
This summer,
NASA is introducing a new automated Position Description Management
(PDM) system and process that will enable supervisors, managers
and human resources staff to create new position descriptions (PDs)
easily and promptly and that will streamline the classification
process. PDM, a pathfinder project managed by the Integrated Financial
Management (IFM) Program Office, is directly linked to the Program's
"One NASA" concept as a standard way of doing business.
Goddard is the
Agency Lead and Pilot Center for PDM. Rollout week at Goddard is
June 18, 2002 and GSFC is expected to make a full transition to
the new system by June 25. Roll out week will include training sessions
for HR staff, and supervisors and managers. The user-friendly tool
also has on line access to tutorials and Quick Reference Guides.

by IFMP visit www.ifmp.nasa.gov.
Keith Lowe is the PDM Agency Functional Lead and Diane Bittner is
the Agency-wide Technical Lead. Watch for details about PDM in future
issues of Goddard news or contact Denise Davis, PDM Agency Change
Management Lead 6-1382.
