Volunteers Needed forNutrition Study

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Beltsville Human Nutrition Research
Center in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University is looking for
volunteers 30- 69 years of age for a nutrition study beginning in July
2002. Volunteers will be interviewed about the foods they eat. Blood and
urine samples will be collected. Volunteers will have their body
composition measured by DEXA. Selected participants cannot be on a diet to lose weight or trained as nutrition professionals. Women may not be pregnant or nursing. Science Fair Judges Needed

Goddard Education Programs has received a request for volunteers to serve as judges at:

Haddeus Stevens Elementary School Career Fair, needs volunteer speakers for a special program that will increase student awareness and serve as an instrument for the exploration of the world of work. Speakers are invited to visit classrooms between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a 30-minute presentation. The Career Fair will be held at the Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School, 1050 - 21st Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. between May 6 and 17. Anne Arundel County Space Expo 2002, to serve as judges for the Anne Arundel County Space Expo 2002 held on Wednesday, May 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Severn River Middle School (across from Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Md). There will be approximately 20 schools submitting projects. All students will receive a certificate of participation. There will not be a first place but your feedback will be used to polish their projects and then submit them as a SEM project for possible selection for a shuttle flight. Tulip Grove Elementary School Career Day to serve as speakers for the Tulip Grove Elementary School Career Day on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the school, 2909 Trainor Lane, Bowie, MD. The Career Day committee cordially extends an invitation for you to visit at least three classrooms to share/discuss your career with students. The presentations should take about 20 minutes and accomodate questions and comments. You are invited to discuss career opportunities, responsibilities, education and experiences required as well as share obstacles and challenges you have overcome with lessons learned.
