Goddard Celebrates Bike to Work Day

On Friday, May 3, the Goddard Conservation Club sponsored a breakfast for employees who bike to work to Goddard. The breakfast, funded by GEWA, was across Goddard Road from Building 8. Twenty-one bicycle commuters stopped in on their way to work. Most came from the surrounding areas of Greenbelt, Lanham, Bowie, and College Park. Two serious cyclists came from Olney and Arnold (about 20 and 30 miles from GSFC respectively); and two serious "I'm not going to drive to work" employees came from Baltimore and Fredericksburg, Va., by combining train and bike modes of commuting.
