Hypertension Screening
Uncontrolled hypertension is a major factor in the development of
heart disease, stroke and kidney disease. Individuals frequently
become aware that they have hypertension only after a potentially
serious symptom has developed. The American Heart Association strongly
encourages everyone to "know your numbers". Early medical
intervention can reduce the complications associated with "High
Blood Pressure".
The Health Unit
will begin Hypertension Screening at Goddard Space Flight Center
during the month of May 2002. A member of the Health Unit staff
will be in the lobby or central area of the buildings indicated
below, from 11:00 - 1:00, (exceptions are indicated). If your building
is not scheduled for a visit, please go to the nearest scheduled
location. For those unable to visit any of these sites, you may
come into the Health Unit in Building 97 to have your blood pressure
checked. Below is the schedule for hypertension screening
