IMAGE: Spaceflightnow.com featured an article about the new observations from the IMAGE spacecraft revealing that a layer in the Earth's outer atmosphere acts like a heat shield by absorbing energy from space storms and reducing their ability to heat the lower atmosphere.

TIGER: TIGER is featured on the cover of the magazine Spaceflight, and features an article entitled "TIGER in Antarctica: Scientific ballooning aids cosmic ray exploration." Goddard's Eric Christian, who was in the Antarctica for the Trans-Iron Galactic Element Recorder (TIGER) project, wrote the cover story for the June 2002 issue.
