Volunteers Needed forNutrition Study

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Beltsville Human Nutrition Research
Center in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University is looking for
volunteers 30- 69 years of age for a nutrition study beginning in July
2002. Volunteers will be interviewed about the foods they eat. Blood and
urine samples will be collected. Volunteers will have their body
composition measured by DEXA. Selected participants cannot be on a diet to lose weight or trained as nutrition professionals. Women may not be pregnant or nursing. Science Fair Judges Needed

Goddard Education Programs has received a request for volunteers to serve as judges at:

Montgomery County Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Program, request for volunteers to assist teachers in support for tutoring students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 for building confidence and self-esteem in an Extended Learning Program summer program sponsored by the Montgomery County Public School system. Training and ongoing support for those that serve as volunteers will be provided. The Extended Learning Program focuses on building reading, writing, and mathematics skills offered in 18 county schools with the highest level of priority and will include four hours of instruction a day including breakfast and lunch.
