Earth Science: Dr. Marshall Shepherd of the TRMM project is quoted in The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, which featured an article about affects of urban summer heat rainfall. This study will be published in the July issue of the Journal of Applied Meteorology.

In addition, a video file on Dr. Shepherd's the urban heat rainfall study generated 40 stories in 29 of the top media markets. Most of the markets broadcasted the animated visualization of the "heat island effect." The major media markets included CBS, NBC and their local affiliates.
