EOS: Akron Beacon Journal featured an article about the affects of urban summer heat rainfall, which was published in the July issue of the Journal of Applied Meteorology. The article mentions Dr. Marshall Shepherd of the TRMM project and lead on this study of rainfall patterns around Atlanta, Dallas, San Antonio and Nashville.

Education: The Maryland Gazette featured an article on a Glen Burnie High School student who is an intern at Goddard through the National Space Club Scholars Program. Diana Hanson was one of 23 chosen participates and hopes to gain insight into which field of science she'd like to pursue as a career.
