SS: The
New York Times featured an article about the use of space observing
instruments, to aid cosmologist to their understanding of the origins
of the universe. The article quotes Dr. Charles Bennett commenting
on the accelerated rate of learning and finding new discoveries.
ES: Space.com
featured an article on the celebrating of Landsat's 30th anniversary
of imaging the Earth. Several selected imagines in the "Landsat:
Earth as Art" exhibit are on display at the Library of Congress.
In addition,
David Adamec participated in 24 live morning interviews regarding
Landsat's 30th anniversary and exhibit with several major networks
around the country to more than 2 million viewers. Additionally
most of the interviewer asked about satellite fire imagery and astonished
over Landsat's Rodeo/Chediski fire sequence.
Imagery from
the Terra satellite remains in the media. Over 30 stories using
imagery from the MODIS instrument of the California fires was broadcasted
on major networks, which gave acknowledgment to NASA and the Terra
satellite. In addition, 20 stories were broadcasted using the imaginary
of the Canadian fires that produced the cloudy over cast along the
east coast.
