Malloy Selected for "All Star" Recipient of the Women
of Color, Government and Defense Technology Awards
The Women of
Color Government and Defense Technology Awards Conference recognizes
the superior achievements and accomplishments of minority women
leaders, in the fields of math, science, technology and engineering.
In addition, the Women of Color Governement and Defense Technology
Awards Conference identifies exceptional women who are making outstanding
contributions in their field
The second annual
Women of Color Government and Defense Technology Awards Conference
was held last week in Washington, D.C. Among the recognized recipients
of the "All Star" award was Charlene Malloy, a Information
Technology (IT) Management Analyst at Goddard. She works with the
Library Information Services Branch and the Applications Development
Branch where she is responsible for managing and monitoring the
information systems tasks performed by the IT team. She develops
library information web-sites, manages the Goddard Projects database
and web-site, and as the library's computer security officer, she
ensures that the library systems are in compliance with agency and
federal laws and regulations. In the Applications Development branch,
Ms. Malloy is responsible for implementing an usability test lab
and managing and organizing their technical library. Ms. Malloy
is helping to address the Digital Divide. In the Students United
with NASA Becoming Enthusiastic About Math and Science (SUNBEAMS)
educational outreach program, she has developed a Web Development
Training Module to expose students to the Information Technology
(IT) aspect of Goddard and to foster a positive attitude towards
future IT careers.
