Colloquium Recognizes Schneebaum Recipients and Sponsors Renowned

This week engineering
colloquium recognized Micheal Dipirro, Code 552 and deceased employee
Thomas Budney as Schneebaum award recipients this week. Michael
Dipirro was recognized for his superior and sustained contributions
to advancing the use of cryogenics technology in space science and
exploration.

Frank H. Bauer
accepted the award on behalf of former chief engineer of the guidance,
navigation and control branch, Thomas Budney. Budney was
recognized for his leadership and contributions that resulted in
the development of pioneering, low-cost space systems and components
as well as your superb efforts in teaching and mentoring young engineers
throughout Goddard.

This colloquium
included a lecture by renowned scientist Dr. Stephen Wolfram. Wolfram
has spent more than 20 years developing a new approach to science
and shared his theory, which is described in his best seller, A
NEW KIND OF SCIENCE to colloquium attendees.
