Sept 15 - Oct 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month

Former Goddard Employee to Be Aboard Space Shuttle Aboard Atlantis for STS-112

Dr. Pier Sellers Former Goddard Employee Dr. Piers Sellers

Final preparations for the launch of STS-112 are under way at NASA Kennedy Space Center. Space Shuttle Atlantis will carry six crewmembers one of which is former Goddard scientist Dr. Piers Sellers. Sellers is making his spaceflight debut on STS-112 and will perform three space walks with co-mission specialist David Wolf. STS 112 is scheduled to lift off on Oct 2.

Sept - Oct 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month Initiated by the U.S. Congress as Hispanic Heritage Week more than 20 years ago, the celebration has grown and expanded to recognition for a month long.
