Under sunny skies with a good breeze, the annual beach cleanup on the north end of Wallops Island was conducted September 28. This year only nine bags of trash and several pieces of lumber were collected. Thanks to the following: Don, Amanda, and Gregory Lilly; Mark Simko; Mike Conger; Keith Koehler; Chuck, Vicky, Ashley, and Charlie Brodell; Will, Jacob, and Emily Mast; Careline Richey; Rod Croson; and Cameron
Dryden.

The yearly event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup. All items collected are categorized and a report is submitted to the Ocean Conservancy, Pollution Prevention and Monitoring Office.
