Export Control Training

A series of export control training sessions have been scheduled to enhance the training and awareness of GSFC personnel involved in activities having export control implications. Activities involving foreign nationals have export control processes that need to be followed. Each session contains an overview, as well as two specialized topics. Attend the session most convenient and of the most interest to you. No training request is required. A session will be scheduled for Wallops in the near future.

Who Should Attend?

Program/Project Managers, Export Control POC's, and other persons with significant export control responsibilities (e.g., transportation specialists, reviewers of NASA Form 1676 (NASA Scientific and Technical Availability Authorization) or NASA Form 1679 (Disclosure of Invention or New Technology)).

Personnel should attend export control training if they have not previously attended some type of training on NASA's Export Control Program (e.g., attended NASA's APPL International Project Management Course or received a briefing from GSFC's Export Control Office). If you have any questions, please contact Tom Weisz, GSFC Center Export Administrator, at extension 6-4541. Click here to view a listing of the times for the training sessions in pdf.

FAIR Act Inventory

All Federal agencies are required by the provisions of the Federal Activities Inventory Reform (FAIR) Act of 1998 to establish an annual inventory of commercial activities performed in the Agency. NASA Headquarters has now posted its 2002 FAIR Act Inventory list to the following website: http://competitivesourcing.nasa.gov Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are also posted on the same website. Center Management encourages employees to check that source since it contains some background information which may be of interest to all.
