Space and Cosmic Ray Physics Seminar

Who: Dr. B. Dennis from Goddard's Solar Physics Branch will discuss "New Results from the RHESSI Spacecraft." Dr. Dennis will show a movie made by Goddard's Scientific Visualization Studio that includes LASCO, EIT, and TRACE observations of the CMEs and flares both before and after the RHESSI observations. Details of the RHESSI observations of this event will be discussed as they relate to models of the impulsive energy release and particle acceleration phase and the long gradual decay period that was visible in X-rays for over 12 hours.

Mars and Venus in the Workplace Workshop

What: The GSFC Women's Advisory Committee is sponsoring a special workshop entitled "Mars and Venus in the Workplace." As a result from attending this presentation, you will understand the differences between men and women in the workplace and will be able to identify and respond to various business situations in a manner that earns greater respect and promotes increased cooperation. By learning the many ways men and women misunderstand and misinterpret each other in the workplace, you will be able to reduce unnecessary conflict and frustration and craft a working environment that will stimulate productivity and become a source of fulfillment.

This presentation offers information, practical advice and skills in the following areas:
1) Martian and Venusian Communication Differences
2) Solving Problems Martian and Venusian Style
3) Coping with Stress on Mars and Venus
4) Interpreting Martian Rules and Venusian Manners
5) How Martians and Venusians Promote Themselves
6) Scorings Points on Mars and Venus
