Colloquium
Who:
Dr. James Hendler, professor at the University of Maryland and author
will discuss, "The Semantic Web: Is It Rocket Science?"
Dr. Hendler will describe the new generation of web, discuss some
of the technologies that will help to power it and consider some
of the ways in which it may be used to create new powerful web applications
beyond the capabilities of the current web.

ODIN
Day
What:
Customer Outreach is sponsoring ODIN Day at Goddard! This is the
perfect opportunity for you to meet the ODIN Team and learn more
about the support Odin provides. This will be a day of receiving
information, fun, food, goodies, and door prizes. In addition, this
day will feature Desktop, Network Services and Security tutorials,
ODIN tools, Vendor demonstrations, Customer Outreach and GSFC organizations
that partner with ODIN. Hear opening remarks from Dr. Linda H. Rosenberg.
Representatives
will be on hand to address questions and distribute literature.
The focus of ODIN Day is to promote an understanding of ODIN, and
to give you an opportunity to meet the people who support GSFC.
So, come on out on December 10th and talk to the people who want
to support your outsourcing needs!

Children's
Holiday Party
What:
GEWA's annual holiday party is open to children and grandchildren
ages 0-8 of Goddard employees and retirees. Includes a personalized
gift from Santa, color photo, magic show, clowns, face painting,
and more for only $7 per child ($1 per adult). Hurry -- Registration
forms and tickets are at the GEWA Store. Tickets must be purchased
by COB December 11th.

Saturday, December 14, from 12 noon til 5 p.m. in the Bldg. 8 auditorium.

Pointy ears,
cute button noses, and slippers with bells not required. GEWA Special
Events needs volunteers to support the annual Children's Holiday
Party. Elves are needed on December 12 to wrap toys, and on December
