Recycle Your
Greeting Card Fronts
For the fifth
year, GEWA will be sponsoring greeting card recycling with some
voluntter help form Code 205.2. The last five years Goddard employees
donated over 600 pounds of greeting card fronts. It is estimated
that 1 million extra tons of waste are produced each week drung
the holiday season in the U.S. which ultimately means dollars expended
for disposal of waste.
In addition
to reducing waste, this card-recycling project has a charitable
benefit. Cards are sent to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, a licensed,
nonprofit, nonsectarian, professionally supervised childcare facility
in Nevada. It is dedicated to helping abused, neglected and troubled
children and teens from across the country. By donating card fronts
to the ranch, the children make recycled card which are sold and
the profits go to the St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
Now through
Jan 10 you can send your greeting card fronts, regardless the occasion
of the cards (birthday, wedding, or holidays) to Code 035. Please
cut off the backs of the card and send only the fronts.
