Safety Performance Evaluation Profile (PEP)

As an effort to continue safety awareness and practices, the Center has chosen to use the Agency's Safety Performance Evaluation Profile (PEP) survey to assist in determining strengths and weaknesses within the safety program. The PEP survey is a self-assessment tool used to evaluate the effectiveness of Goddard's Occupational Safety Program from management and employee perspectives.

The deadline for completion of the survey has been extended until March 14, 2003. The survey can be accessed at http://safety1st.gsfc.nasa.gov or http://pep.nasa.gov. All Greenbelt civil service employees should have received a Control ID Sheet with a Control Number (PIN) to access the survey web site.

Participation in this survey is voluntary. All employees are encouraged to participate. The survey should only take about 15-20 minutes to complete. The responses to this survey are very important and will enable tailoring of each directorate's safety program. At this time, our overall center participation is 18%. In order for this survey process to be effective, we must have at least 33% participation in each directorate and as a Center. Wallops employees have already completed the survey.

If you have any questions or if you have any problems with accessing the survey, please contact Lisa Cutler, Code 205.2 at 6-7409.
