Earth Science Project Leadership

With the two most recent Earth Observing System launches of ICESat and SORCE, the program is currently undergoing several changes. Jim Watzin lead the ICESat project to its successful launch in January and now Watzin will be leading the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP). The NPP project was previously led by Kevin Grady, Grady will now serve as the Project Manager for Gamma-Ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST).

Under Bill Ochs leadership, SORCE successfully launched in January also. Ochs is moving on to serve as the Project Manager for the Landsat Data Continuity Mission. Ochs predecessor, Doug McCuistion has left Goddard and is now at NASA Headquarters as the Director for the Program Planning and Development Division for the Earth Science Enterprise. Good luck to all!
