NASA/Goddard
Institute for Space Studies (GISS), Code 940 in New York has been
awarded the prestigious Leadership Trophy from the Combined Federal
Campaign of New York City. This trophy is awarded to the federal
agency with the highest per-capita gift in the New York City campaign.
"NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies achieved a per-capita
gift of $359,the highest by far of any federal agency in New York
City. Although per-capita is the only factor taken into consideration
for the Agency Leadership Trophy, NASA had many other impressive
achievements including one of the highest Average Gifts, $478 and
a 75 percent participation rate."

On March 21,
Carolyn Paurowski, CFC coordinator for GISS, and GISS Chief
Dr. James Hansen were presented the first-time ever trophy
at an Awards ceremony at the United Nations.
The Goddard Space Flight Center had an overall impressive year for
the CFC. For the first time, a bake sale was held at Greenbelt to
raise additional funds for CFC. In addition, Wallops Flight
Facility held
its annualemployee Fun

Day. This event
consists of various fund raising activities including senior management
cooking grill food items to sale and an employee rocket launch contest. Goddard met 98.1 percent of its
goal for the 2002 CFC year. All participates are thanked for their
contributions.
