Fourteenth
Annual Quality Symposium
The Goddard
Space Flight Center conducted its 2003 Fourteenth Annual Quality
Symposium on Friday, May 9, 2003. The Symposium with a theme of
Quality Improvement Processes for the New Millenium featured annual
awards to its top five contractors and presentations by Goddard's
two winners of the 2002 NASA George M. Low Award.

A. V. Diaz,
the Goddard Center Director was the Master of Ceremonies with the
program starting with Harold S. Stinger, the CEO and President of
SGT, Inc., Greenbelt, Maryland as the keynote Speaker.
The prestigious
2003 Goddard Trophy is awarded to Goddard contractors, in various
categories, who make a substantial contribution to the mission of
the Center and are dedicated to a philosophy of Continuous Quality
Improvement. Mr. Diaz said, "The five winning contractors,
all achieved demonstrable and measurable accomplishments in Continuous
Improvement Programs."
The Goddard
Excellence Award was presented to ITT Aerospace/Communications of
Fort Wayne, Indiana; Marotta Scientific Controls Inc. of Montville,
New Jersey; Titan Corporation of Fairmont, West Virginia; QSS Group,
Inc. of Lanham, Maryland and Global Science and Technology, Inc.
of Greenbelt, Maryland
The two Goddard
contractors who were winners of the 2002 George M. Low Trophy made
presentations on their Quality Improvement Processes. They were
Rodney P. Hunt, CEO and President of RSIS of McLean, Virginia and
Evan Hineman, Executive Vice President of ManTech Interrnational
Corporation of Fairfax, Virginia.
