Tuesday Begins Celebrate Goddard Day Activities!

Celebrate Goddard Day is next week. It is a time for everyone to appreciate the accomplishments of Goddard's Diverse workforce. Activities have been planned for June 24-26 to celebrate Goddard's diversity.

Activities will commence on Tuesday, June 24th, with a showing of movies that raise diversity awareness. Come and enjoy some popcorn with the movie "Antwone Fisher" in bldg. 3 Goett Auditorium at 10:00 a.m. and "A Beautiful Mind" in the bldg. 8 auditorium 1:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 25th in the bldg 3 Goett Auditorium at 12:30 p.m., all NASA personnel are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy a live stage performance entitled, "Invisible Diversity Conflicts: The role of Emotional Intelligence!" Developed and presented by Orlando-Ward & Associates, Inc., of San Diego, California, this program features custom-created diversity training, live professional drama, and interactive facilitation. Three professional actors will be on hand to perform short scenarios on issues of diversity. Don't miss this unique diversity training program that promises to be very entertaining and educational.

Then a special day has been planned for you, Celebrate Goddard Day will take place on Thursday, June 26th! This day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will include remarks from the new Assistant Administrator for Equal Opportunity Programs (EOP), Dr. Dorothy Hayden-Watkins and a special address from Mr. George Curry, editor-in-chief of the National Newspaper Publishers Association News Service and BlackPressUSA.Com. In additon to directorate booths, food, entertainment and diversity karaoke.

This day will also include the Goddard Bee, a trivia game that is similar to the Spelling Bee. Instead of spelling words contestants will answer questions relating to Goddard and diversity. Participants are still needed for the Goddard Bee please contact Ginny Thompson (x6-0569) or Sue Pierpoint (x6-8058) to sign up for this game.
