Dr. Mannino
Presents at Goddard's Space Chat
Last night Dr.
Antonio Mannino from the Laboratory for Hydrospheric Processes
gave a lively presentation at Goddard's Space Chats. Dr. Mannino
explained how Goddard contributes to the objectives of the Earth
Science Enterprise by studying the ocean with remote sensing, developing
models, field measuring and experiments. Mannino also discussed
how satellites such as SeaWifs and the MODIS instrument assist with
studying of the various biological aspects of the ocean.
Space Chats
is a series of free interactive presentations that informs attendees
of the latest findings in space and earth research. The presentations
are held several times a month and are given by Goddard scientists,
researchers and program managers.
Everyone is
invited and encouraged to attend the next presentation that will
be given by Dr. Marshall Shepherd on Thursday, August 7,
2003. Dr. Shepherd will discuss the phenomenon of "urban heat-islands"
creating more summer rain over the downwind of major cities. Please
share with your family and friends, as well as the public. Space
Chats is current held each Thursday of this month at the Goddard
Visitor Center. While the events are free, registration is required.
