2003 Request for Nominations for NASA's Leadership Development Program

Each year NASA distributes a call requesting that all NASA Centers participate in nominating viable candidates for the opportunity to attend Agency Sponsored Leadership Programs. Nominations for The NASA Leadership Development Program (LDP), formerly NASA Executive Potential Program (EPP), are currently being requested.

The LDP is a 12-month leadership program designed to strengthen a participant's ability to understand Agency-wide needs and the role NASA plays in supporting National goals. It is a rigorous program that challenges participants to produce and be accountable for measurable results at Center, Agency and societal levels. All nominees should be at the GS 13-15 grade level and come highly recommended by their directorate to meet the criteria and compete at the Agency level.

Employees interested in participating should first meet with their immediate supervisor to express their interest, determine whether this program is an appropriate match for their development needs, and to determine the benefits to the Center or Agency and to the individual before beginning the application process. All applications must have the support of immediate supervisors and be forwarded for approval through your directorate office.

A full description of the program including information, selection criteria and forms related to this program are electronically available through the LDP page located at http://nasapeople.nasa.gov/ldp. As this is a new program, please carefully review the program information.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Goddard Executive Development Advisory Panel (EDAP) and forwarded to the Executive Resource Board (ERB). Final recommendations will be forwarded for approval to the Agency Institutional Program Administrator. Final selections are made at the Agency level.

Directorate approved nomination packages are due to Janice Gelder in the Leadership and Organization Development Office, Code 111, by August 13, 2003.
Applications that are received after this date or do not meet application requirements will not be considered.
