On Wednesday, Dr. Marshall Shepherd and Jeff Halverson took the television airways of many stations across the country to explain how NASA satellites are critical for helping forecasters and researchers to determine if all elements are coming together to create a hurricane.

Last week's Tech Tuesday on WAMU's Kojo Nnamdi show hosted David Clary, the author of Rocket Man, Robert H. Goddard and the Birth of the Space Age. Tech Tuesday looked at the revolutionary "rocket man."

Shan Sun and James Hansen of NASA's GISS were featured in many news articles for their study which used NASA's Global Climate Model (GCM) to determine that the oceans will continue to absorb more heat from the atmosphere over the next 50 years. This increasing ocean heat storage suggests that global surface temperatures may warm less than previous studies projected.
