WebTADS Transition Kicks Off

GSFC officially started its transition from OMNI to the Web Time and Attendance Distribution System (WebTADS) this week with 2 Kickoff Briefings for Greenbelt Supervisors and Points of Contacts (POCs were formerly called Timekeepers). These briefings covered:

  • The goals of the project - to adopt a NASA-standard Time and Attendance system that meets the needs of the upcoming ePayroll project
  • The benefits of the system - it improves the payroll and timekeeping processes while giving users and supervisors new capabilities
  • The roles of Supervisors and Points of Contact in the transition - Points of Contact will assist employees in transitioning to the new system
  • The training schedule - see below.

Any POCs or Supervisors who were unable to attend the briefing are asked to download it from http://webtads.gsfc.nasa.gov/index.htm.

Below are the key steps leading to the go-live of WebTADS at GSFC on November 30th:

3. Wallops Kickoff Briefing, September 25th from 1pm-3pm at WFF E-104 Assateague Room

This session will provide POCs and Supervisors with a general background on WebTADS and specific training on how to communicate this transition to other employees. This session does not include application training.

2. Instructor-Led Training for Supervisors and Points of Contact, October 1st - October 31st

Supervisors and POCs will need to understand the WebTADS application in order to perform their jobs and assist employees in the transition. For this reason, they are required to attend one instructor-led training course (3 hrs) on the WebTADS application. This instructor-led, hands-on training will cover: entering time, performing prior period adjustments, requesting leave, requesting overtime, setting up work schedules for employees, and completing electronic approvals.
Supervisors and POCs can now register for classes from the WebTADS website: http://webtads.gsfc.nasa.gov/index.htm or by clicking the following link:

3. Wage-Grade Training, Early November

All wage-grade employees and wage-grade-related Supervisors and Points of Contact will receive separate training in early November (dates and times yet to be determined).

4. Web-Based Training for employees, November 1st - November 26th

This transition will be a moderate change for most GSFC employees using OMNI who will continue to enter their time electronically, albeit in a new system. GSFC employees will be given specifics in early November on how to complete their web-based training by November 26th. Throughout the transition, POCs will be available to answer WebTADS-related questions and assist employees in overcoming time entry problems.
