Damaged Mesh-Back Chairs

JSC has identified problems with several chairs manufactured by Herman Miller. The model of the chair is Aeron. The problem is a hairline fracture that could lead to the chair's failure. See picture below. The chairs were immediately tagged out and removed. All chairs that were tagged out had a fracture on the chair's left side, seat support frame. At this time, no problems have been identified at GSFC.

What You Can Do:

  • Check for Herman Miller Aeron chairs in your area. The Aeron chairs on site are various colors. They have adjustments for height, seat tilt, back tilt, armrests, and lumbar support. Chairs are available in three sizes, based on their weight limits: small (A), medium (B), and large (C).
