LEGENDARY ASTRONOMER EDWIN POWELL HUBBLE HONORED WITH FIVE NEW POSTAGE STAMPS G00-040 04/10/00 00:03:57Five new stamps were issued in a dedication ceremony at the Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, on April 10, in conjunction with NASA's 10th anniversary celebration of the launching of the Hubble Space Telescope. The stamps honoring American astronomer Edwin Powell Hubble are images captured by HST of the Eagle Nebula, Ring Nebula, Lagoon Nebula, Egg Nebula and Galaxy NGC 1316.

ITEM (1): Stamp Ceremony - The U.S. Postal Service issued five new commemorative postage stamps in a dedication ceremony honoring astronomer Edwin Powell Hubble on April 10, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in Greenbelt, MD. The stamps were issued in conjunction with NASA's 10th anniversary celebration of the launching of the Hubble Space Telescope.
