GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER VISITOR CENTER "DISCOVER GODDARD" PRESENTATION: "MEASURING THE SOLAR BREEZE" Energy streams out from the Sun towards the Earth in a solar wind of electrified particles. The spacecraft that will help predict how the Earth's atmosphere will respond to changes in solar wind is called Wind. At the Goddard Space Flight Center's Visitor Center on Sunday, March 26, at 1 p.m., Dr. Tycho T. Von Rosenvinge, of Goddard's Nuclear Astrophysics Branch, will show how the existence of the solar wind was first confirmed in the early 1960s by NASA's Mariner 2 spacecraft.
