GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER VISITOR CENTER "DISCOVER GODDARD" PRESENTATION: "ASTRO-2: ULTRAVIOLET ASTRONOMY FROM THE SPACE SHUTTLE" To improve our understanding of the universe, NASA worked along with astronomers to develop the Astro observatory--dedicated to exploring the invisible universe of ultraviolet astronomy. Astro-2 expands the base of ultraviolet astronomical data and increases our understanding of the intricate universe in which we live. Join Goddard astronaut, Dr. Ronald Parise, of the Laboratory for Astronomy and Astrophysics as he recounts the Astro-2 mission and discusses ultraviolet astronomy from the Space Shuttle.
