January 18, 1996 RELEASE NO.: Wallops - 96-001W NASA Wallops Offering Space Adventure for Seniors Are you a senior citizen who has always been fascinated with rockets and space but never had the chance to actively participate. The NASA Visitor Center at the Goddard Space Flight Center's Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA, is offering a program for you. The Senior Citizen Space Adventure will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Feb. 15, 1996, at the NASA Visitor Center. The free program is for anyone 55 years old or over. During the day, participants will build and launch their own model rocket, participate in a rocket mission simulation, tour the Wallops facility, and conduct hands-on experiments relating to rocketry. Space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling the NASA Visitor Center at (804) 824-2298 or 824- 2297. The NASA Visitor Center is located on Route 175 about six miles from Route 13 and five miles from Chincoteague, VA. ###########
