SRS INFORMATION SERVICES SELECTED FOR MISSION ASSURANCE CONTRACT AT NASA GODDARD
SRS Information Services of Newport Beach, Calif., has been selected for a contract to provide mission assurance services to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. The five-year contract has an estimated value of $44.6 million.
Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc. of Columbia, Md. will serve as a major subcontractor to SRS.
Under terms of the performance-based, cost-plus-award-fee contract, SRS will support the Center's Office of System Safety and Mission Assurance. The company will review the technical, flight and safety aspects of all of Goddard's flight projects. These services will include mission assurance engineering services, system safety services, reliability services, continuous risk management services and information and assurance technology services.
Goddard is NASA's Center of Excellence for scientific research. The Center has a leadership role in NASA programs to conduct Earth system science - understanding how the Earth's atmosphere, oceans and land masses work as a complex, interconnected system. Goddard also conducts astronomical investigations - from how stars and galaxies are born and die to the perplexing and mysterious behavior of black holes, pulsars and gamma ray bursts. Space weather, or how events on the Sun - our nearest star - effects the Earth is also studied.
Goddard launches dozens of orbiting spacecraft, sub-orbital sounding rockets, high-altitude research balloons and sophisticated instruments each year to gather scientific data that scientists use to increase their knowledge of our planet, the solar system and the universe. SRS will support the Center's safety and mission assurance staff to ensure the success of these missions.
The contract is a 100 percent small business set-aside. Much of the work will be performed on-site at Goddard and at supplier facilities based on service requirements.
