INVITATION
TO REPORTERS:
SOLVE MEDIA WEEK: January 27-31, 2003
The SOLVE campaign will hold a media week beginning Monday,
January 27, 2003.
During that week, members of the media may schedule appointments
for interviews with specific researchers. Also, a Media
Day, open house will be held at the Arena Arctica Hangar
on Wednesday, January 29th, 2003. Researchers will be available
throughout Media Day to answer questions and provide tours
of the hangar and operations.
All
media visiting Arena Arctica must coordinate their visit during
media week or the open house with NASA Public Affairs and
Kiruna Airport Security.
Members
of the media can fly into Kiruna airport in Kiruna, Sweden.

The SOLVE Campaign hangar is about 200 yards from the airport
terminal
AIRLINES:
Any airline to Stockholm, Sweden, and then fly SAS
(Scandanavian Airlines) to Kiruna.
LODGING
AND INTERVIEW ACCOMMODATIONS:
Reporters can meet with the researchers at the Arena Arctica
facility/hangar at the Kiruna airport or the Scandic Ferrum

Be sure to pack an adapter for your computer or other electronic

TIME
DIFFERENCE: If making reservations by telephone, please
note that Sweden is 6 hours later than Eastern Standard Time.
It is located one time zone east of the Greenwich Meridian.
TRANSPORTATION:
Transportation from the airport or hotel to the Media Day
events is available by taxicab.
